Come and discover our beautiful region
The cities that hold the “Towns of Art and History” label, granted by the Ministry of Culture, are committed to protecting, enhancing and bringing their heritage to life. History, architecture and culture are placed there under the sign of sharing and mediation.
Bergerac, a proud city on the banks of the Dordogne, majestic barges, which bring the river to life every day, a magnificent Renaissance town center and… the ghost of Cyrano who never put his big nose here! ...
Bergerac has proudly displayed its Label Ville et Pays d'Art et of History. And for good reason… A maze of streets and squares, each more charming than the next. We raise our noses to admire the half-timbering, the pointed windows, the worked doors.
Further on, Place Pélissière, we salute the statue of Cyrano ah, anyway, here it is at last. Bergerac can also be discovered by water, in a barge on the Dordogne, or on dry land to stroll and set off to meet the houses of the boatmen on Place de la Myrpe, where our guest house is located. On the way to the river, all you have to do is enjoy the calm of the Cloître des Récollet before tasting the nectars of the vintage on the Quai Cyrano. We remain speechless in front of the machine for mass sculpting pipe heads at the top of the Tobacco Museum.
