The Pays de Bergerac, with its exceptional vineyards and its well-preserved Bastides has all the assets for a successful stay. In the heart of famous vineyards Monbazillac, Pécharmant, Montravel..., spread over 12,000 ha, stands the town of Bergerac whose name is often associated with that of Cyrano, a famous character with a long nose (created by Edmond Rostand) who was not, however, the real child of the country as Michel de Montaigne. Pays de Bergerac rich in castles
Wherever you are in the Dordogne, a castle is never far away! The Pays de Bergerac is rich in manycastles, mansions and manor houses, whose construction extends from the 11th century until the French Revolution. The abbey church of Saint-Avit Sénieur, Cadouin cloister (masterpiece of flamboyant Gothic art) or the small medieval town d’Issigeac are also to be discovered. Much of this richness comes from the juxtaposition of various architectural currents. Below are the closest to Bergerac, however the Dordogne and many othercastles.
